I have a crush on poppies. I adore them. I love when they start popping here and there, filling every corner with joy and color. Here is the final image:

El proceso: He jugado con los modos de fusión. Creé una capa nueva y pinté de negro un poco a lo bestia, para cambian el modo de fusión a superponer, de modo que sólo afectaría a los tonos oscuros, los tallos, y no el cielo.
And this is the process: I played with blending modes in Photoshop. I painted black on a new layer, which I blended in overlay mode

Y sigo fotografiando caballos. Y es que estoy todo mi tiempo libre entre caballos! Se cuela alguna que otra flor, pero todo lo demás tiene pelo. Bueno, da mucho de sí. Últimamente edito en blanco y negro. Y me está gustando mucho.

Still horses, only horses. The thing is I spend most of my free time in the company of horses, training, watching others train, caring, admiring. There's sometimes one flower, one poppy here and there, but most of my subjects are hairy these days. And they are awesome. I am editing now in BW, and I love it!.

The white horse

Este es un caballo blanco muy brioso, muy digno y muy majestuoso. Nunca le saco lo guapo que es. Probé una acción de Pretty Presets, para Lightroom. Y este es el resultado.
This is a strong white horse, so proud, so beautiful. Photos do not show his beauty. Ihen I tried Pretty Presets Brown for Lightroom. I like the results.

Mira que es guapo. Ubiarco es nuestro caballo, y me encanta. Isn't he too cute? That is Ubiarco, our horse. En las cuadras, el interior del box contrasta mucho con la claridad exterior, y así queda un fondo negro perfecto para retratar. The inside of the stables makes a beautiful black background, perfect for portraits. Y me encanta cómo posan los caballos. Son preciosos. And I love how they pose, so beautiful.

Este es uno de mis sitios favoritos para hacer fotos. El paseo está más alto, así que el cielo me queda como fondo. Es ideal para puestas de sol. Siempre salen una siluetas magníficas y unos cielos interesante. Pero esta vez hice las fotos al mediodía, de modo que el cielo sale todo quemado, así saldrían siluetas interesantes.
This is one of my favorite places to shoot. I am in a lower position, so I have a wonderful background. Sometimes it is sunset, but then I decided to shoot midday, so the sky would be completely blown. I thought it would male for some interesting shapes.
Hice la foto y la edité en Lightroom. Le bajé la saturación, y le subí al máximo el contraste, claridad y negros.
I took the photo, edited in Lightroom, turned the saturation to its lowest, pumped up contrast and clarity and blacks. And here it is:

desayunos. breakfast

El desayuno. Este es un momento crucial. Mi transición entre el sueño y el estar despierta es complicado. Necesito silencio, paz absoluta, nadie alrededor. Y en mi casa saben que soy rarita a esas horas de la mañana, y van con cuidadín (peligran si no lo hacen) Y a veces me sorprenden con cosas como ésta, llenas de amor y ternura.

Breakfast is a very special moment for me. I celebrate silence while slowly waking up. I am the first and I need to be alone for a time. And my family knows. And they sometimes surprise me with little details that make my day! My kids dedicated this to me:


Mi desayuno habitual, siempre con café.

This is my usual breakfast. As someone said, I don't have problems with caffeine, I have problems without caffeine!.


Y mis jarras de desayuno. Siempre en naranja (la anterior es sólo para fotos!) Tienen que ser naranjas, tengo cuatro o cinco versiones, ya os las iré enseñando, antes de que mi marido acabe con ellas!

Competición hípica. Horse jumps: Jugando con la velocidad. fiddling with shutter speed

Mi hija compite en concurso de salto de hípica, por eso me toca ver y fotografíar cientos y cientos de saltos.. Después de las fotos convencionales para ella y los niños del equipo, siempre nos quedamos a admirar a los supercampeones de salto. Y son unos cuantos.

My daughter has recently started competing in horse jumps, so I go with her to whichever competition there is. And there are lots!. So I shoot hundreds and hundreds of horse jumps. So when the expected shots have been done, there are still the best ones to jump, we stay there until the last one has jumped. It is worth.
